for sure, the 1.6 HA doesn't have them. the 1.6 TD does tho, and all versions of 1.9 diesel ...NA and TD ..as in 1Y and AAZ. plus some gas engines... my 1.8 16 valve jetta gas engine has them .. so does my 2.0 16 vaove gas engine pretty sure. it's an upgrade for ANY engine . the hottest parts are the piston tops and the exhaust valves.. they can use all the help they can get. lol...ever seen a 1.6 TD engine driven so hard the top piston rings loose their hardness and temper ? easy to do .. ..... just power-boost as hard as you can up every hill. and piston oil squirters didn't help either in that case.
