All, My new LAtrical starter finally arrived today after a two week vacation in Montréal - as soon as I opened the box, le démarreur said it needed "un café fort” et une cigarette! It then asked me to fetch it a smoked meat on rye. Karl’s adapter arrived so long ago, I’ve already misplaced it twice. However, I am now set to remove the old, confirmed twice dead, starter from the Hyena once again and get back to camping with the 5-yr old. Since my new starter is a self-supported TD/TDi starter, do I need to remove the bushing for the old starter from the bell housing - if that is even possible with the engine and tranny in the vehicle? Is there any chance of the busing working loose and having an undesirable dance with the flywheel?
