Hi Aaron,

Three years ago heading out of town this happened to my friends 80 Vanagon. He has great skillls so we stopped at his house and in just over a hour using spare parts he had it working again.

Bu, I don’t have those skills and breaks need to work correctly. Also after 2 years the van may have additional issues if it has not been run.

Consider a AAA or other towing package then use it to get the van home or to your favorite shop. SAve yourself the time and difficulty of working on it away from your resources.
