I would think any of the Monroe shops in the area could easily take care of any general brake work. They are anything special about the vanagon ones.

Part of this answer depends on what level of brake work is needed. Brake work can be anything from simple pad or shoe replacement or s hydraulic repair to a complete system overhaul including brake lines, baking plates, hand brake cables, the works. Most shops will not be ready to tackle this in a timely basis and the parts they get may have various fitment or quality issues. If you are considering brake upgrades much of this will be money lost.

Then after you get past the parts issues there will be the issues with getting the rears properly installed and adjusted. It's not difficult but many seem to get this all wrong. So ask good questions, get a warranty.

I have an ’87 Westy resting comfortably near Fitchburg, MA. that need brake work before I can drive it home to Maine. I need someone to do the necessary work to get her back on the road. Does anyone have any ideas of someone within the AAA 100 mile tow range that would be willing to help me out? thanks, Dake ‘Ian’ ’86 Westy Wu-Wei (until I get the ’87 on the road)
