My hunch is that there was an interference pattern in the parallel air flows. That was years ago; I've been happy with a Vitrifrigo for 8 years.

The problem with the Dometic is that it is too small. Volume goes by the cube and area by the square. A big side by side in a motorhome works fine. Large volume in relation to the surface area that leaks the cold out, or the heat in. The Dometic has too much surface area in relation to its volume. When the van temp goes past 110 in Moab, there is no hope for the Dometic.
