I'm not sure how one hits his head on the retraction reel with it inside
the cabinet. But there isn't any ideal solution to the 3-point restraint
for the driver's side, so far as I can tell.
I do on occasion let an adult sit in that position, but will not put a
child seat there for my grandchildren. Only one of them can go in the van
at a time, on the passenger side rear seat. The belts on both sides are
properly installed per GoWesty instructions. I just don't trust the
driver's side enough to put a grandchild there.
