Should be accurate for that point in the system The oil filter is close to the pump and oil pressure there is before the filter so it will read a bit higher. This is a good place to monitor oil temperature as you are getting the oil that is actually flowing. For best oil pressure gauge reading it is best to use the port between the pushrods on the left side of the engine. This is the lowest pressure in the system as it is at the end after everything. What temperature is the oil running at with this very low pressure? What viscosity are you using? This oil pressure is very low.

Hi just installed an oil pressure and temp gauge in a sandwich between cooler and oil filter . How accurate is this placement compared to directly in the block? I'm getting a reading of 15lbs at 3000 rpm . Don Sent from my iPad
