I don't know about the rest of you, but for all the time I've owned a vanagon the gas pedal has bugged me. It just never felt wide enough. The left side of my foot would be hangin off the side of the pedal. No room to shift foot over to the right. And for the last few months I've noticed that my pedal felt loose and wobbly underfoot.

Well it turned out the plastic hinge was tearing. I have a spare pedal in good shape but I thought I'd try making a better one .

Made a couple of prototypes, tried one, modified it, and it I think it really does feel better. More of my foot supported, no interference of foot and brake pedal ( haven't tried rolling foot type of heel and toe but it looks like it will be possible).

Anyway, for a rough try the pedal works well.

PS I installed the pedal with threaded inserts into the floor instead of pop rivets. Didn't take much to open the existing holes enough to install 10-24 inserts.
