In 300k kilometres of van ownership I've used my spare twice for a total of about 50 km. I would have thought it would be ok to drive for a bit on a 14 inch wheel even if you've upgraded to 16. Is this larger spare really necessary or more of a want than a need?

Thanks Jeff Hopefully upgrading to 16 inch next year!
