I also went through the "dance" a month ago:  replaced ignition switch with a one from Napa, then a Meyle, then a Kostal.  In my opinion, the Kostal brand is superior.  But like Roy, the problem was the starter NOT the ignition switch.

Mechanic started motor 6 times in a row in rapid succession; on 7th and 8th try, no crank; on 9th try it started.  He said, "Bad starter". And it was.

The pump comes on when you first turn the switch to on.  Does it kick-in again when you try to crank?

Try jumping the circuit either at the switch or at the starter just to be sure.  Also measure your voltage - and if you can, amperage when trying to crank - at the starter.

I just went through this dance a couple of months ago and it was actually the starter and not the switch.
