Probably a smart move. This time last year I came across an '82 diesel camper with blown engine for a ridiculously low price. Even at that I had to pass after serious (and I mean heart-wrenching) consideration. For one thing, it was sunk into the ground nearly to the rocker panels and, although the body did not look bad the interior was ravaged and the poptop was the most moss-encrusted manmade object I've ever seen. That thing would have been a timesuck in an already crowded schedule. You just have to know when to walk away.

And, it may sound silly but the interaction just didn’t feel good. I know it probably sounds silly but I’m just a VW camper fan I’m not running a business. I’ve always had enjoyable interactions purchasing my VW busses. So I didn’t want to pick one up that just didn’t ring right for me. I didn’t even ask if they would negotiate the price.
I hope I’m wrong and it can reasonably be saved.
