I'm guessing they bought it in July and paid a good price with it being dressed up and well presented. Seen this story so many times. The engine then failed and they are now trying to get all the money back thinking the engine replacement was an upgrade-investment. At this mileage there are so many things that have not been done yet but will be needed.

You can ask whatever you want. Some novice sellers think that all Vanagons are the same and the only difference is the paint color and interior trim. Their asking price is realistic for a 89-91. All of the extras that will not receive a cent more fir the van when it sells for $10.5 - $12k. People just don't want underpowered diesel vans. You can play it up all you want, how great it is. A novice may buy this and realize they should have bought something newer down the road. Face it when you are traveling, reliability is king as is keeping up with traffic and getting over a grade. I wish them all the luck selling it, but At that price they'll be leaving it in the airport or with a used car lot upon their departure.
