I am assuming that you speak about your radiator fan. There is a pressure switch, can't remember the name of it, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can fill that in, behind the rear cabinet on the left that turns on the radiator fan to high when your AC is working really hard. Sometimes that switch gets stuck in the on position. If that is the case, every time you switch on the AC, your radiator fan will run at it's highest setting.
I was lucky, mine unstuck and now works properly. In my case, it may have been my addition of a couple of Pro Seal AC additives, which incidentally found and fixed the small leak in my system a couple of mechanics could not find. It just took operating it a few times and removing the fan fuse to stop the radiator fan until it worked properly. Lots easier than removing the whole cabinet/closet to get at it, Not sure the part is available through our vendors.

Dave B.

On 10/08/16, Larry Alofs<lalofs@GMAIL.COM> wrote:

There seems to be a little confusion about whether this is related to the
AC. The AC has a blower in the back. The front fan is for the fresh air
and front heater.
As Dennis said there could be various faults with the front fan circuit.
I believe that you can swap the switches for the front fan and the rear
heater fan which are near each other on the dash. This will help you
verify or eliminate the switch as the problem.
The resistor pack on the front fan can be reached by removing the
dash...sorry. :-)
With enough electronics skill and determination it may be possible to make
an alternate resistor assembly and attach it near the switch. I have been
considering this approach to solve the problem of no low speed on my fan.

Larry A.

On Fri, Oct 7, 2016 at 5:26 PM, kappycan . <kappycan@gmail.com> wrote:

> I heard that i need some sort of rheostat; but cant seem to find anyone
> with more information such as location etc............ anybody up on this??
>
> thanks, Keith
> 89 westy in NL
> that's Newfoundland, Canada
>
> --
> "We shall not cease from exploration
> And the end of all our exploring
> Will be to arrive where we started
> And know the place for the first time"
> - T.S.
