Kevin, My syncro once had dramatic front wheel vibration at highway speed. It turned out to be worn out outer cv joints. Had about 130K miles on them. I couldn't tell which side so replaced both outers and the problem didn't reoccur. Not heard of how a hub wears out let us know if you do. thanks. Rick Koller
