A friend had a 1987 Tintop, and the tunnel came crashing down less than two years ago. I mentioned to her that there had been a VW recall, so she dashed to the dealer and they actually followed through with the repair at no cost to her. She is an extraordinarily pushy individual, so I am not sure dealers would respond to us more meek types with a warranty fix this far after the recall, but maybe?
