Yes, you can get a new Chinese re pop of a regulator from the usual
suspects. The new regulators fail in exactly the same way the old ones did
plus the ring gears strip out as well.Most of the new regulators are
noisier in operation due to the fact that they have left a sheath off of
the cable.
. For the same money shipped I can supply an OE rebuilt regulator and
a OE rebuilt motor , if the regulator failed then the motor is not far
behind it. Almost every motor I see which is (Good) is at the end of its
life and needs service, they generally have one or two seized bearing and
no grease in them.
To date I have rebuilt over 450 motors and 185 regulators all with
positive feedback.
