Hi Dan, Before you start throwing new parts at the problem I suggest you attach a fuel pressure gauge and verify that the system maintains residual pressure overnight. If there is no pressure when you start it in the morning then that could explain why you need to crank it for a bit before it will fire up. -Mark On Sat, Nov 5, 2016 at 10:21 AM, Dan N <dn92610@gmail.com> wrote: > thanks for the suggestions... > > - one year old coil with ground cleaning beneath it > > - yes I hear and constant fuel pump faint buzz when I turn the ignition ON > > - unplugging the IAC valve doesn't change anything > > - I didn't check the fuel pressure at the fuel pressure regulator assuming > it's good, it has only 8K miles on it. > > I suspect the following: > > - clogged fuel filter (it has 5K miles on the US and 3K miles in Baja) > - week fuel pump (it has 8K miles) > - defective ignition switch > - defective Temp2 sensor (but it runs good, not rich, good gas mileage, the > engine behavior's completely normal once it started) > > I will do the following (as in throwing parts in the dark!) > > - replace fuel filter > - swap the old fuel pump back (the old one I use as backup part) > - replace Temp2 sensor > - swap the fuel relay borrowed from a another van > - adjusting the AFM to enrich it a bit (the screw that use #5 allen key) > > thanks a lot folks > > dan > |
