Tire Rack posts great tire test results with comparisons with multiple tire
brands.
Check out the tirerack.com tests and see how studs compare to ice tires,
Blizzak, Nokian...
Studs also wear down very quickly on non-snow covered roads so their
effectiveness is short lived.
I live in the mountains in Colorado and use nothing but ice tires, no
studs, in winter.
Also, I do not work for Tire Rack, as a matter of fact, I hear that their
service centers absolutely suck!
