I took out the rear fresh air vent above the sliding door and installed three Hella switches for my lighting. There's a picture at the bottom of this Samba page: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6954876. The LED strip light I used mounted nicely in the steel channel about the rear seat.
