I use a 4 x 8 foot trailer for materials that size, but I can get some 4 x 8 stuff in the camper at an angle. I actually prefer to carry firewood in the van, well-lined with broken down boxes.

The most useful thing I have done with it besides moving the occasional raft of heavy materials for work is that the trailer allowed, on several trips, the fork lift operator at Home Depot to set a load down on the trailer (a whole pallet of fencing) rather than taking all afternoon stacking it inside the van. That alone was worth the money.

Next time I have anything messy, it's going on the trailer. Much easier to clean than the inside of a Westy.
