So speaking to one of my mechanics I have taken it to in the past he said more than likely the cam shaft has broke since the only thing connecting front to back cylinders is the cam shaft and it would be rare for cylinders to die in unison. The compression on my other cylinders was 165 and 175 so not too bad.

His take...he can rebuild but it would be all the way to the bottom end and we would not know what to expect once we get there...price could top out at what a new one is. Versus, buying a rebuilt and installing. Less chance of issue and a nice power upgrade.

As much as I want this to be a rebuild I am seeing the logic here...unfortunately. And assuming that is the case I need to prepare for the worse.

I do want to stick with a WBX, I know the engine and prefer to keep it that way. So just trying to stay ahead of the game.

GW has a 2.2 at just under $5k with a 48mo warranty and Rocky Jennings has a 2.1 at just under $6k with a 12mos warranty. Vanistan isn't taking orders till late 2017 so that is out of the picture.

What am I missing on options for a new engine? Any experience here with any of these?

Thanks as always for the advice.
