Subject: Testing Starters...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Had the joy of the bypassed rear heater (loop) blowing up yesterday and flooding the whole floor and underseat area of my bus...

A couple of observations- don't loop it!!! or if you do, for the love of all, loop it under the bus so it doesn't destroy everything under the seat- rant over...

My question is more borne out of the fact that I had a couple spare parts under the seat...including an alternator and a couple (yeah weird...) starters...

I took said starters to OReilly and they said they couldn't test them because the bendix gear would fly off and damage the starter beyond repair...true? I could have sworn that I had other stores test them in the past without a problem...

I can swap the starters into the bus, but I'd just rather test them, clean, paint, and store them for the inevitable...

THANKS!
