I disagree about diameter being inconsequential..When I swapped sizes last time it added about ℅10 to my overall gearing, bringing it to optimum...with the smaller ones (stock 14" standard size) the gearing was wrong...it worked, but with that 10% change, it is right again( in my opinion)...
