UTQG does not apply to LT tires. So far as a studdable tire doing year round duty: 1. It has winter grade rubber, not year round, so will be soft and wear faster. 2. Once studded, it cannot be reversed. I, and several others, are hoping that the Vredestein Comtrac, which is an all season tire, but with a winter type tread and side block siping (and the mountain snowflake symbol that makes it mountain legal), and supposedly a rubber compound that provides winter grip but summer wear, will work out.
