When I use a click wrench, I almost always set it about 20% below the needed settings...one, to take things snug in an orderly manner, and two, to make certain the wrench is behaving properly... especially on critical high torque assemblies...

No! I never re-use TTY bolts. ;)

A more experienced person would've stopped reefing on the bolt in question before I did. It happened at the end of a long wrenching day..... I could NOT believe that my new never before used torque wrench could behave in such a manner.

The sprocket (timing belt pulley) appeared fine as did key way in crank snout. There were no related issues prior.
