Pretty amazing mileage. But you are different, an original owner (I assume), and you pay close attention to every detail of your engine and van. Most folks today are simply not used to doing that, which includes checking the oil and other fluids regularly, at least every other fill up. Back in the old days gas station attendants checked these things because they made more money on service than they did selling gas. Today they make more money selling junk food than selling gas. But, modern cars also need far less maintenance. We crossed over I95 on I40 in NC on Friday in our Westy seven miles before the odometer rolled over 330K, not on one engine, of course. This took rebuilding the 2.1L wbx once, replacing it with a tiico, replacing that with a warranty tiico, and finally replacing that with a Subaru. Happy trails. Ed |
