I had a similar issue. Auto trans. I'd try to cross an intersection, step on the throttle and BOG! BLAH!

Just replaced my thermostat... It was stuck open. Haven't had the boggy /too rich problem since then. Going on a week of solid driving now. 2,000 miles

Ralph at VC mentioned a stuck thermostat open will make the ecu think van isnt warmed up and will make engine run rich

Only wish I had opted for the 82* stat vs the 87*
