So looking at the images you posted (thanks), could the adventurous DIY type make something similar with a jigsaw, files, decent vice? Make bends in aluminum where you TIG'd it? Securing it would be another matter I guess, sans welder.

It's my understanding that part of the reason there's a hefty mudflap on the driver side is to protect the propane copper lines etc. But it can only do so much!
