I realize Don is doing an "in camp" repair and I don't have the part in front of me but....

If there's enough material on the mount tab, if the hole was made wider toward vehicle rear, would this help tank install? Should the nut come loose (unlikely) would this alteration allow tank to shift forward and droop? A proper lock washer on the 13mm nut should suffice.. Lube might help slide the tank bulge back into recess on the body.
