Yeah, it was my wiring, done about 15 years ago. The relay was indeed bad, it was sticking in the On position. Maybe I should find a more protected location for it, currently it's mounted behind the front headlight grill, not fully shielded from rain. After replacing the relay, everything works as it should again.
