Sears built a big tower in the industrial area of Seattle in 1915 as their distribution center, and our “stadium district” has now developed nearby. Over 15 years ago the majority of the building became Starbucks headquarters, and two years ago Sears closed what was left of its retail store there. Look for liquidation sales soon.

Yes that was a good piece.  I thought of the discussion started on the list the other day when I saw it on TV last night.  All the nostalgia feelings coming up about its demise.  Sears was one of the first words I could "read" when I was a kid in the Chicago area.  (In the mid-late 60's.)
