Thanks much Ken. Good to know you can get the dust cover portion. The sleeves that fit into the top of each bumper are ok as is the internal metal part in the OEM bumper portion itself. I'm curious if the shoulder, (or called collar?) on the new Sachs shock strut was too large to fit into that internal metal part inside the bumper. When I get home, I may reuse the OEM bumper. In the past I'd tried to glue the dust sleeve back on. I'm more familiar with adhesives now so figure Goop might work .... For a little while anyways. Haha.

I installed new Sachs shocks in my 88 westy. Getting the nut started was tough but I got it done. Not entirely sure why the mechanic here in Brawley CA had trouble installing the nut with the OEM bumper installed and had to resort to his work around.
