First off we have all the Stainless Steel bolt kits you could ever want for your Vanagon right here:
<https://www.frankcondelli.com/staging1/store/index.php?route=product/category&path=135>
We include all the nuts and washers, flat & locking, in our kits, see the individual kits for what’s included. The nuts cannot be self locking or Nylock BECAUSE the carriage bolts suppled will turn in the Fibreglass and not allow you to ever tighten up the nuts. Any hardware item that must be turned on the face of a painted surface is supplied with a flat washer so that the hardware item will not damage the paint.
