FWIW...I bought the refill adapter years ago, and "collected" spent 1lb canisters... The problem (at least here in Canada) is that the valving on new 20-30 lb propane BBQ tanks has changed... There is a copper stem in the top valve that goes down into the tank...it does not allow liquid propane to flow into the 1lber when the large tank is turned upside down during the refill process...this means you would have to find an "old style" BBQ tank more than 7 years old to do the refills, and nobody up here will refill a BBQ tank that's more than 7 years old...
