Don,

I agree with Stuart about you needing higher voltage. Did you measure at alternator or at battery? 13.6 is in my opinion too low to keep the battery adequately charged.

I don't know about your o2 sensor light wiring, but the alt light is fed so to speak by th blue wire from alternator. Sorry but can't recall terminal designation off hand. Check connections for that wire, and I bet you have a connection in it, somewhere in the engine compartment. Check that connection.

Replacing the brushes and voltage reg combo pack is dead easy, two Phillips headed machine screws is all that holds it in on the front end of the alternator.
