Subject: Fiamma F45i awning
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

The Fiamma F45i 10ı awning is a substantial investment, but weıve decided itıs the best choice for our needs and plan to order one in the Spring.

However we would like opinions from owners of the 10ı model in regards to the best mounts for the Vanagon. Some vendors sell a Fiamma-branded kit with two mounting brackets that bolt to the rain gutters. Others offer a set of three brackets they manufacture themselves which require drilling into the vanıs body.

Other than the obvious issue of drilling holes, what are the inherent pros/cons of either mounting system? Our 1990 Westy 2wd sees very little off road use any more. The vast majority of our trips are on secondary roads traveling distances of a couple hundred miles, but from time to time we will be on the interstate traveling fair distances at sustained speeds of 65-70.

Thanks for your input!
