Ken,

I'd draw your attention to the layout of the leds on the bulb. I choose the one I did as I thought the layout most closely matched the filament layout in the halogen.

I'm of two minds about the fan cooled units. On one hand it would allow a more powerful led array, on the other hand it's one more thing to go wrong. But that failure fear is probably un warranted. Btw, my bulbs are 25W each.

I wouldn't put too much faith in advertised light output numbers, lumens. It suspect that they are calculated values based on led characteristics and not very accurate in real life.

The power handling electronics are built into the lamps I have, no separate box in line. Just a pigtail to a three prong male plug.

And see if you can discern any radio interference. Try a faint fm station.

I'm interested in your opinion about the light quality, especially distance with high beams.

Cheers

Alistair

Also there is a box where electronics lives that reminds me of the HID bulbs they we were experimenting with a little while ago. I wanted to install these today and do the video but it is raining here and my shop is tied up at the moment. Maybe if I can get the bus I am working on out of the shop or have a decent weather day, I can install them on a customer's van that is here right now and do the video. I have some pictures from my friend that I supplied them to for testing purposes and he loves them and they do give off more light and a nice white light that doesn't look weird (HIDs I am thinking of you). > > Ken > >> On Tue, Jan 17, 2017 at 11:12 AM, Alistair Bell <albell@shaw.ca> wrote: >> Kenneth, >> >> Are the similar in form factor to the ones I posted on my blog?
