Dan,

I know some swear by pulling the pedal up and out without removing dash, but I don't find the dash removal that bad and I go that route when doing the job.

Good luck, and if you do take the dash off you have the chance to re foam and clean the heater. And lube all the wiper mech, and put sound deadening on front sheet metal, and insulate etc etc :-)
