Hmmm.... . Never had a problem with Discount Tire. I had tires on my Prius that simply did not make the tread wear guarantee (ContiPro by Continental) by a long shot. Discount simply credited the correct amount toward a new purchase, and I did not get Continental tires, but rather Bridgestones.

Maybe a difference in particular shops.
