Subject: Distributor rotor heat damage? (Solving intermittent engine stall)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Hi all.

This is for a Jetta engine in a vanagon.

New rotor with ~ 4000 miles. Am I looking at damage due to excessive engine heat? The Jetta coil is purported to put out higher than average voltage.

I'm trouble shooting an intermittent engine stall. It started out as "blips" at highway speed then finally showed up as a brief stall making a left hand turn. It might have been due to corrosion at distributor hall sender connectors. I addressed that best I could, cleaned all other engine connectors, (they looked fine), cleaned up rotor. So far so good.

Thanks.

Neil.
