I'm sad that our vehicles are becoming too valuable to use. its strange that somehow people want it both ways. I doubt Rogers pal would drive his Packards to Ontario for a business meeting, but our Vanagons are still some of the better rigs for travel, hauling, camping, etc. But now we have "flippers" snagging the reasonably priced ones and selling em to people who want them because they aren't being built any more, because they're rare..And there are people who are paying... The "syncro" we're discussing has lots of stuff done, sounds like a well-sorted rough country capable camper. But the big asking price has a lot of "exclusive" in there... Starting with any number of other platforms, one could easily create an equally capable rig a few times over, for that money..But Hey! He'll get it, I bet.. Bedliner "outback" rigs are Big in the southwest desert. I just got a "tour" of a North American Hightop with a Bostig.. brown bedliner and a full. custom interior, 2 wd. Nice, I'm now considering doing a high top for mine. This fellow was a full-time van resident, said he had about $60 k into his van and proud he'd done it all himself.
