Subject: 1.9 ECU replacement
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

You may remember a while back that my engine bit the dust. I got lots of great and varied feedback from the group so thank you. In the end I decided on a GoWesty 2.2 to replace my 1.9. I know the engine, the warranty is amazing and the price reasonable.

My mechanic is nearing completion when we had a hiccup with the injectors flooding the engine. Apparently just turning the key energized them to the point that gas was flowing out the exhaust. Not good. In digging in he swapped for a known good ECU and it corrected the issue. Changed oil, finished install and is in break in period and running well. (He wonders if this is what killed the engine)

Problem is that ECU is a loaner from one of his personal vans until I can figure out getting a rebuilt one.

So wanted to see what the group thinks about getting a new ECU. Not a cheap part to replace (though when you just bought an engine pretty reasonable). Some suppliers seem to have crazy high core charge. There seem to be a few different makers out there, any experience between them? Any difference between the triumph and the Bosch? Thoughts on options?

Here is a link to my Artie album if you want to see a couple pix of the engine in there... More to follow as the engine is completed. https://goo.gl/photos/N8sPGaj1Zc6iDs8k7
