Yeah, that's what I keep hearing. The drop in bulbs don't work. And I can believe that except for the reasons I noted in my first post about these bulbs.

And those were... I read good reports of a drop in H4 led bulb made by Philips. The pics of the beam pattern looked good. Problem was they are expensive, north of 150 a pair.

But then I saw what looked like cheap copies of that led design. So I bought a set, and I am trying them.

They aren't that bad, the cut off on low beam is acceptable, it's comparable to the halogen. I would recommend them if only the high beam distance projection was better.

But there you go, I actually tested a set of led bulbs and they weren't bad.

To be honest I expected a fair amount of skepticism, but a blanket statement saying no led drop in bulbs will work just is plain wrong.

The LED bulbs just don't have the proper focus for lamp not sedsigned to work with them Amazon has so many to choose from. If you have the round headlamps due to the Harley and jeep communities there are a number of 7 inch round LED headlamp assemblies available. Some of these work great along with adding daytime running lights and also turn signal function. I'm still on the fence about them. I love the low power draw, I still get a kick out the instant on and instant high beam effect ( yeah, I'm easily amused. But the quick switching is so apparent). But I'm still disappointed by the high beam performance.
