Subject: Rear left turn signal not working
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

hi all

89 westy.

Left rear turn signal is not working at all. The bulb does not come on.

Left front turn signal flashes very fast- and the green indicator light on the dash flashes very quickly too. This is typical if there is a burned out bulb.

I have changed the bulb for a known good one. I have cleaned the connections.

Left Tail & Reverse lights work fine. This suggests grounding from the rear light assembly is good.

Right front and rear turn signals work fine, with a typical flash from the dash indicator light.

Four way flashers work- except the left rear, which shows no light at all.

I'm thinking the flasher unit is OK - since the right side & Four way works fine.

I have a sinking feeling that I will have to trace a bad connection in the left rear turn signal circuit somewhere between the rear light assembly and that rats nest under the dashboard. Sigh.

Any observations?

Thanks all

Bill M
