Subject:      Another 16" tire size thought

A number of folks are running 215/60-16 tires. Considering the Vanagon gearing and the advantage a slightly larger diameter tire can offer consider going up a size to 225/60-16. With this slight size increase the normal load index goes up to 98 and the "XL" versions are 101 or 102. For Syncros the 215/65-16 is taller again with that same load index advantage. Also, there are a number of good AT tires such as this one available in this size.
