My s.o. needed a commuter vehicle to "save" her horse-hauler F-250 and to leave over the summer in our winter spot. I'm familiar with my VW inline and have most of an ABA, not needed, in boxes, leftover from the hybrid inline I have been running in my 84 tintop/westie interior van. We got her a 97 Jetta, with 139k miles, bought from a marine in Oceanside, CA. He paid $300 for the vehicle and fixed it for resale.. Body and interior,.Plus back registration fee, mostly. So VW ABA motors are available for ~ $300, The Jetta works perfectly BTW... |
