I just came through the Lucerne valley, then the Owens Valley, one range west of DV...The desert flower bloom is ON... Been hanging in the Southwest desert winters now for a number of years, and this looks to be the best ever for the flowers, what with the timing and intensity of the rainfalls... Weekends will be very busy in the prime flower viewing areas.

I cut east to hwy 95 rather than stay on the higher elevation portion of hwy 395...Still a lot of winter snow in the high country..
