Following up on what Gene said, you'll want to be sure that your van's running great before hitting the Blue Ridge Parkway; there are no service centers along the way as I recall. The Blue Ridge Parkway changes to the Skyline Drive on the top of Afton Mountain, in Virginia. That's about 20 minutes west of where I live, in Charlottesville, Virginia. If you get to that point and want to take a break from the 35 mph curvy mountaintop roads, drop on down for a visit. If you get to that point and need service, there's a guy west of there, in Staunton, Virginia, who's great with vans. About 20 minutes west.

The Skyline Drive ends at Front Royal, Virginia. From there, it really depends on where in PA you're going. If you're going to the Harrisburg and points west region, you'd probably want to head over to Interstate 81. It can get a little crazy with a lot of trucks, but that's usually worse south of there. If you're heading to eastern PA, you'll just pick up 66 in Front Royal and head east.

If you want a less curvy and a little faster route north, you can pick up Route 11 in Virginia. It's straight, 55, mostly, with lots of cute little towns along the way, and it goes right by Natural Bridge, which is totally worth stopping to see. That's an hour southwest of me.

Have fun, and good luck! And yes, replace those fuel lines! Marc Perdue
