Hi listees, I bought a Racepak Smartwire Power Distribution Unit (relays and logic vs fuses) and am having some trouble trying to figure out where to place the main unit in the Vanagon. If I put the PDU under the driver's seat, it will be closer to the battery and ostensibly be in a better position to distribute power around the car, BUT I would need to run a semi-large loom to the rear of the car for all the analog inputs and outputs I will need. If I put the PDU near the ECU under the rear bench, it will be closer to the engine, but the power wire will be over 10' long (definitely not recommended). Anyways, your thoughts are welcome as always! (keeping in mind the PDU needs to be placed at least 18" from any electronic interference generating hardware) Cheers, Sudhir |
