Dear Retiring -- (Really can you do that? Retire form Vanagon ?? Retire from repair of Vanagon??? )

Oh I see you are wanting to train someone and have them pick up the standard when you are 100% full time busy fixing your own vanagon. --

Interesting how a announcement of an opportunity for the long term future of anyone who cares to present self and learn all - has become a discussion about who mods the various Van discussion groups and how globalization actually creates factions more distinct than prior times . . .

Zolton _ good luck in your retirement - you are facing one of the greatest challenges faced by single operators of a small business - how to carry on when they no longer are carrying on -- transfer of the holdings shop based or home based is hard -- do it too soon and you risk training a person who runs off and works for competition or opens shop down the street and is competition [happens in families too -hello portland :)] Do it too late and you risk being the crotchety old man trying to teach them young fellers something they would never listen to anyway and they are always texting - Damn them -- I never lernt these here fixin technics by text - ya gots ta gets yer hands dirty-- --

My first thought is why isnt GO-Westy doing a franchise model ?? - wouldnt that be great as each local shop grows weary grinders the GO-Westy School of Vanagon releases a star into the well ploughed ground to grow into a different empire -- or Maybe Stephan's Auto Haus-- they could have that model R & R hot new high tech engines into old awesome bodies -- as each one rolls out the doors open and we hear IT's ALIVE - IT's ALIVE

enjoy the coming days off - be kind to the rest of the furry creatures you meet and enjoy well cooked steak from time to time

regards
